The village is best known for its famous packhorse bridge and is also home to Landmark Forest Adventure Park, a chainsaw carving competition and even the World Porridge Championships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Landmark Forest Adventure Park<\/strong><br><br>If you are coming to area with kids &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.landmarkpark.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Landmark in Carrbridge<\/a> is a must visit. Set amongst the Caledonian forest it combines its woodland location with lots of great fun for all ages. The attraction has grown over the years and now boasts water slides, kid friendly rides and a spectacular new Dinosaur Kingdom &#8211; with huge, life-size (and roaring!) dinosaurs. You can also explore the treetop trail, learn all about the areas history, have fun with optical illusions at the bamboozaleum and if your feeling fit head to the top of the fire tower for spectacular views.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The old packhorse bridge<\/strong><br><br>Make sure you snap a pic of the oldest stone bridge in the Highlands. One of the most recognised landmarks not just in the village but in The Cairngorms. Spectacular no matter the weather but particularly impressive when the river is high and makes you imagine how big the great flood that washed over the bridge must have been. If you are lucky you may catch local legend Spud the Piper playing his pipes from the top of the bridge.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Carrbridge Forest walks<\/strong><br><br>Carrbridge is nestled in ancient woodland so it is no surprise there is a wealth of trails to explore around the village. For a stunning views head up to Calderwood viewpoint, for less strenuous walks there are a number of trails including a 30 minute walk along the River Dulnain or explore Ellan and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.woodlandtrust.org.uk\/visiting-woods\/woods\/glencharnoch-wood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Glencharrnoch woods<\/a>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Carrbridge Golf Club<\/strong><br><br>If looking to enjoy a spot of golf while staying in the village, <a href=\"https:\/\/carrbridgegolf.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Carrbridge golf club<\/a> is open to visitors and will be sure to give you a warm welcome. The course offers some stunning views and we\u2019ve been told that the 9 holes offer plenty of challenge and enjoyment for golfers of all abilities. The clubhouse offers refreshments and golfing essentials.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Carve Carrbridge<\/strong><br><br>This annual event in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carvecarrbridge.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">September<\/a> draws competitors to test their chainsaw carving skills to create wonderful wooden sculptures. No matter the time of the year you visit the village you can see many of these works of arts dotted throughout the village on the Carve Carrbridge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carvecarrbridge.com\/about-the-activities\/carving-trail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sculpture trail<\/a>.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Golden Spurtle Porridge World Championships<\/strong><br><br>Another competition that has put Carrbridge on the map is the World Porridge Championship &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldenspurtle.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Golden Spurtle<\/a>. The golden trophy is named after the the Scots kitchen utensil used for stirring porridge, this event started as a small event in the 1990s and has now grown to be world famous. It sees competitors coming from across the world to take a shot at winning the coveted golden spurtle trophy by putting their porridge recipes to the test. On every October in the village hall.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where is Carrbridge?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><br><\/strong>Carrbridge is located in The Cairngorms National Park in The Scottish Highlands. The village is just off the main A9 that runs between Inverness and Perth and not far from the A95 that connects to Grantown and Speyside. It is 24 miles south of Inverness and just 8 miles from Aviemore. The village offers easy access to Speyside and The Highlands by road, bus and train.&nbsp;The closest airport is Inverness which is a 45 minute drive. There is a small shop, post office, restaraunts, cosy village pub and Petrol station with garage. Aviemore offers a range of pubs, restaurants and shopping including two supermarkets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to get to Carrbidge by train?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><br><\/strong>Carrbridge is served by a mainline station connecting the village to Inverness to the North and Perth, Glasgow and Edinburgh to the south. Scotrail, The Caledonian Sleeper, LNER all serve or connect with the village &#8211; either by stopping directly or by changing in Aviemore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to get to Carrbidge by bus?&nbsp;<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><br><\/strong>Carrbridge is well served by local buses connecting the village to Inverness, Aviemore and Grantown on Spey. Services are operated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stagecoachbus.com\/about\/north-scotland\">Stagecoach Highland<\/a>. National services connecting Glasgow, Edinburgh and the UK by Megabus, Citylink and National Express connect in Aviemore.<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to get to Carrbidge by bike?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The village is on National Cycle Route 7 connecting with Boat of Garten, Aviemore and Inverness.
