What is Hogmanay?

Hogmanay is a Scottish name for the last day of the year, and the celebration of a New Year rolls into the 1st and the 2nd of January in Scotland.  Traditionally, Scots will dance the night away at a ceilidh and first foot friends and family in the days afterwards.  When the bells come in, the name for the clock ringing at 12am,  expect a raucous cheer and joining of hands for Auld Lang Syne – a very famous poem written by Scotland’s national bard,  Rabbie Burns.
