Things to do in Aviemore for groups

Aviemore and The Cairngorms make a great choice for your next group outing. The area offers so much to do for groups of all ages and sizes - from the usual group activities like go karting and quad biking to more adventurous things like mountain biking or white water rafting. Whether you are a group of friends, family or corporate group the area has a number of providers that specialise in this kind of thing. There really is so much on offer to make a group trip you will remember.

  • Outdoor activities at Rothiemurchus

    The Rothiemurchus Estate just outside Aviemore offers organised activities and packages for all ages and group bookings are welcome.

    Whether you fancy having a go at clay pigeon shooting, trying your hand at archery or some of the many watersports there are lots of options here. For a unique Highland experience there is even a mini Highland games with your chance to try the likes of like tug-o-war, Putting the shot and Toss the Caber.

  • Beer tasting at Cairngorm brewery

    If you fancy tasting some locally made ales - Cairngorm Brewery offers tastings at their brewery in Aviemore. Within walking distance of the centre of Aviemore so no need to worry about designated drivers.

    Not a beer fan - well it turns out the Highlands is quite well known for our whisky too. Check out Speyside Distillery’s The Snug to organise a whisky tasting in Aviemore of their world renowned drams. For Gin in Aviemore, check out Kinrara Distillery for small batch gins.

  • Go Karting in Aviemore

    Feel the need for speed? Think you are the next Lewis Hamilton? Then what could be better fun than taking on your pals or family at go karting. Aviemore Kart Raceway offers lots of different options for groups of all ages and sizes in a range of different race formats. For family groups they offer “arrive and drive” family sessions and tandem karts to give younger children a safe way to enjoy racing.  On your marks, get set, go!

  • Go on a Highland history walk

    Aviemore and The Cairngorms are steeped in history, mythology and legend. If you want to discover some great stories about our local area, Strathspey story walks are a great choice. Packed full of history and legend without being dry, Sarah’s tour combines going for a relaxed walk with lots of tales along the way. These walks come highly recommended by us and we really enjoyed the one we went on. Sarah is a fantastic guide and really makes the stories come alive.

  • Explore Aviemore and The Cairngorms by bike

    Aviemore and The Cairngorms offer so much to explore by bike, with miles and miles to explore. There is everything from safe car free cycle tracks great for family groups to more adventurous mountain biking opportunities.   • Kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding in The Cairngorms.

    Aviemore and The Cairngorms offer a huge range of water based activities depending on what you are looking for. Some ideas include, taking canoes out on Loch Morlich with In Your Element, go on a scenic river kayak trip with Full on Adventure, try stand up paddle boarding at Loch Insh or if you fancy an adrenaline packed activity Active Outdoor Pursuits offer the excitement of white water rafting.
