Couples' retreat with private hot tub in Boat of Garten, Cairngorms National Park

Wildcat Lodge is a small house built for two people on a quiet estate in Boat of Garten. A king bedroom, an open-plan living and kitchen, a shower room. The space is intimate without being cramped, designed so that two people can holiday together with all the benefits of a larger house. There is a garden with a private hot tub surrounded by woodland, and inside, a log burner that brings real warmth to cool evenings and creates a focal point for the hours when you just want to relax.

The property boasts a kingsize bedroom with towels, robes and slippers, a separate shower room, an open plan living room with kitchen and wood burning stove, and finally a utility room for washing your clothes and drying your kit. Outdoors a small garden space has the hot tub, seating area, BBQ and bike store.

Wildcat really works for couples who enjoy adventure. You can wake up on a clear morning and have coffee in the garden before deciding what the day will be. You can cycle on Route 7 or walk the Speyside Way, both minutes away, and come back tired and happy and slip straight into the hot tub to ease out the good tiredness. A James Braid golf course is on the doorstep, along with the River Spey for fishing or water sport.

Nature lovers will enjoy spending time in the Caledonian Pine Forests and nearby Loch Garten, famous for its Ospreys. If you would rather relax, there are restaurants within walking distance or what not take a ride on the Strathspey Steam Railway into Aviemore. Whatever your pace, there is plenty to enjoy in Boat of Garten, the Osprey Village.

Boat of Garten itself is the real asset. It is a village where people actually live and work. There is a golf course that is first class, a steam railway for real nostalgia,, two restaurants that are worth the reservation, a shop, a post office, a real sense of place. The ospreys at Loch Garten are close enough for a morning trip. The Cairngorms are all around you.
